The Solar Rain Pump- Basic Principles
The Solar Rain Pump is a portable pumping unit designed to easily connect to a rain barrel and pump the rain water to a drip emitter system or a simple garden hose. Solar Rain Pumps come with a standard size pump (upgrades available), a standard size battery (upgrades available), and a method for activating the pumps (options below). The idea is to turn common rain barrels into a useful resource as they are generally not very convenient to use with just the gravity feed spigot. The Solar Rain Pump allows you to move water effectively out of the rain barrel and to your plants.
Solar Rain Pump - Timer (SRP-T)
The SRP-T allows the user to set a time and the pump will automatically turn off. This provides the user with the ability to set the time and walk away as the pump does its job.
Solar Rain Pump - Automatic (SRP-A)
The SRP-A is the most advanced Solar Rain Pump with its programmble timer. It allows the user to set up to 8 on/off events. This option is great for vacation homes and water tasks that you wish to be automated.
Solar Rain Pump - Hybrid (SRP-H)
The SRP-Hybrid unit allows for one Solar Rain Pump to perform two seperate functions. In the automatic mode it will pump rain water from the downspout automatically to remote rain barrels for later use. In the manual mode it can be moved to the rain barrel and turned on via timer, remote control, or on/off switch to pump the collected rain water to the garden. Since the hybrid unit performs both functions it is not necessary to buy two seperate Solar Rain Pumps.
The Hybrid Solar Rain Pump is perfect if you want to hide rain barrels somewhere on your property, perhaps behind a shed, so that it is not necessary to have the rain barrels sitting next to your house.
